Buttock Lift

After weight fluctuations or severe weight loss, but also as part of the natural aging process, the skin and the underlying connective tissue lose elasticity and begin to hang following gravity. This problem can also occur in the buttock area. A tightening of the buttocks can give you back a youthful and harmonized body silhouette.

Usually after massive weight loss, the procedure is combined as a body lift with an abdominoplasty and the body is thus tightened circumferentially.

What's a buttock lift?

During buttock lifting, excess skin and tissue is removed through a spindle-shaped incision, the tissue is tightened upwards and adapted. The scarring is deep and therefore hardly visible even in swimwear. In the same procedure, excess fat pads on the outer thighs (riding breeches) can be removed by liposuction if necessary.

Am I a good candidate for a buttick lift?

If you are disturbed by excess skin and tissue in the buttock area and want a firmer and more youthful buttock shape, a buttock lift could lead to the desired result.

What can I expect after a buttock lift?

The buttock lift can give you back a well-formed buttock with a beautifully contoured body silhouette.

What happens during consultation hours?

Together we will decide in a detailed consultation whether a gluteal tightening is suitable for you and whether alternative treatment options exist. Our experience enables us to advise you in detail about the different possibilities of a gluteal tightening, but also about alternative possibilities such as liposuction or non-surgical fat reduction with truSculpt 3D (radio frequency), and to offer the ideal therapy for your needs. The prerequisite for every intervention in our practice is a reflective discussion in which all details and your motivations are examined in detail. From the moment you enter our practice, we are your partner who will advise you on all questions. We rely on our many years of experience, which helps us to always go the right way, even in less clear cases.

We will take digital photographs to visually plan the treatment and document the steps.

Of course, we will ask for your detailed medical history in order to identify possible contraindications for the procedure at an early stage.

What's the surgery like?

A buttock lift is usually performed by two of us. This enables us to keep the operation time and thus the anaesthesia for the patient short. The operation takes 1-2 hours for a buttock lift and about 3 hours for a body lift. It takes place under general anaesthesia in our certified operating theatre or under inpatient conditions in the hospital. Whether outpatient or inpatient depends on the extent of the findings and the operation and will be discussed with you in detail beforehand.
Drainages are inserted to drain blood and wound secretion, which can be removed in the following days. You will already be dressed in compression clothes in the operating theatre, which you should wear for 6 weeks.

What about the follow-up treatment?

As with any surgical procedure, you will feel slight pain in the first few days. We will give you painkillers for this and will be happy to answer any other questions you may have. You will feel a feeling of tension during the first few days and should therefore be careful when sitting and bending over.

The first check-up takes place the day after the operation. Afterwards we usually see each other after 2-3 weeks for suture removal in our consultation hour. Further check-ups take place after 6 weeks, 3, 6 and 12 months in our consultation rooms. You can expect the final result after the swelling has subsided after about 3-6 months.
