Thigh Lift

With age, the elasticity of our skin and connective tissue decreases all over the body. The result is lax, inelastic skin. Weight fluctuations and severe weight loss also contribute significantly to this. This problem is more pronounced in certain parts of the body, such as the thighs. Especially in the area of the inner and outer thighs, lax excess tissue and excess fatty tissue can form, which often cannot be improved by sport or disciplined nutrition. The surgical removal of this excess skin and its fat deposits can tighten the tissue and significantly improve the contour of your legs and the overall body image. Occasionally, surgery is combined with liposuction.

What is a thigh lift?

During the thigh lift, the excess skin and fatty tissue is surgically removed. The wound edges are adapted and tightly sutured. The result is a slimmer contour with tighter skin.

Am I a good candidate for a thigh lift?

If you are disturbed by excess skin and tissue in the thigh area, which cannot be improved despite disciplined nutrition and sport, a thigh lift could lead to the desired long-term result.

What can I expect after a thigh lift?

The thigh lift enables you to achieve both functionally and aesthetically firmer, well-proportioned thighs which leads to an overall harmonious and youthful body image.

What happens during consultation hours?

In a detailed consultation we will decide together whether a thigh lift is suitable for you or whether alternative treatment options can achieve a better result. We will examine and assess your thighs, excess tissue and skin quality. Our experience enables us to advise you in detail about the different possibilities of a thigh lift, but also about alternative possibilities such as liposuction or non-surgical fat reduction with truSculpt (radio frequency), and to offer you the ideal therapy for your needs. It is very important to us to illuminate all sides and consequences of an operation and to be at your side for all questions. Our many years of experience help us to understand your goals and set them in relation to the possibilities that suit you best.

Of course, we will take photos and ask for your detailed medical history in order to identify possible contraindications for the procedure at an early stage.

What's the surgery like?

A thigh lift is usually performed by two of us. This enables us to keep the operation time and thus the anaesthesia for the patient short. The operation lasts 1-2 hours and takes place under general anaesthesia in our certified operating theatre or under inpatient conditions in the hospital. Whether outpatient or inpatient depends on the extent of the findings and the operation and will be discussed with you in detail beforehand.

Drainages are inserted to drain blood and wound secretion, which can be removed in the following days. In the operating theatre you will be dressed in compression garments, which you should wear for 6 weeks.

What about the follow-up treatment?

As with any surgical procedure, you will feel slight pain in the first few days. We will give you painkillers for this and will be happy to answer any other questions you may have. During the first few days you will feel a feeling of tension and should therefore be careful when sitting and running. You should expect swelling and haematomas in the first few weeks.

The first check-up takes place the day after the operation. Any stitches are usually removed after 2-3 weeks. We will then see you again after 6 weeks and 3, 6 and 12 months. You can expect the final result after the swelling has subsided after about 3-6 months.
